The word went viral on the internet when one of the largest online shopping retailer called jumia announced their Black Friday promotional sales.
After conducting my research, I later found out the real meaning of the word.Black Friday is truly related to shopping which is an annual event and a friday following the thanksgiving day in the UNITED STATE(it's always observed every fourth thursday in november).
The word originated in philadephia where it is used to describe the heavy and disruptive pesdestrian and vehicle traffic that would occur on that day.
Black Friday has being regarded as the started point of the christmas shopping season in the United State and some retailers will start offering promotional sales.
Finally according to wikipedia in 2013 approximately 141 million US consumers shopped during black friday, spending a total of $57.4 billion, with online sales reaching $1.2 billion. it is majorly observed in the following country-UNITED STATE,UNITED KINGDOM,CANADA,MEXICO,BRAZIL,INDIA,PANAMA,COSTA-RICA,ROMANIA,DENMARK,SWEDEN,SOUTH AFRICA,FRANCE & NORWAY.
